Once a year, all SEA Instructors and Assistants will complete a day of training in teaching techniques, safety boat driving, rescue procedures, safety procedures. Most of our instructors start by assisting our Beginning and Intermediate classes.  when they are ready to become an instructor, certified by the US Sailing Association, they will need to complete the US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor course.  Information on these courses is available at the US Sailing website. If you are interested in how to become an Instructor or Assistant, please contact our office.

Maintenance Seminars

We occasionally offer seminars on boat maintenance to members. These seminars are taught by members who have sailboat maintenance experience and are interested in offering their knowledge to our community.

Whenever possible we try to incorporate hands-on elements using our own fleet so we can both give people a chance to try out new skills and also use these seminars as an opportunity to take care of some of our own maintenance needs.

When available we invite you to join us for a fun skill-building experience.
