Adult Sailing Classes

Select any camp type for dates, descriptions and session details. Be sure to read the registration instructions at the bottom and take note of our refund policy. When you are ready to register click the link to the right and complete a registration form. Once that has veen submitted, you can pay for the registration using the paypal drop down also to the right.

As noted below - your registration is not complete until you have completed the registration form and submitted payment.

  • An introduction to sailing small boats (the BEST way to learn to sail!) Students will learn to tack, jibe, sail on all points of sail, dock the boat, and learn how to get into and out of the "safety position" and into and out of "irons". Safety and self-confidence are emphasized Class will cover basic knots, and rigging a simple small sailboat. Adult Beginning Sailing will be taught on the water using SEA’s 16.5’ Catalina keelboats.

    • Location: 110 Loch Lomond Dr. (Dock A behind  Andy's grocery store next to Loch Lomond Yacht Club)

    • Days, time, duration: Classes are offered on weekends and consist of 1 dockside class followed by 2 sailing classes. All classes run from approximately 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. After the sailing classes, students are offered 2 practice sails with SEA volunteers during future open-sail events.

    • Ages: >16

    • Prerequisites: If over 18 none, if 16-18, permission of a parent.

    • Boats: Catalina 16.5 Keel model

    • June 1st Dockside | June 8th and 9th on the water

    • July 20th Dockside | July 27th and 28th on the water

    • Aug 10th Dockside | Aug 17th and 19th on the water

  • This is the next step up from the Small Boat Sailing. The course combines a 6-hour dockside class with hands-on experience sailing on beautiful San Francisco Bay.

    • ​Location: Loch Lomond Marina 110 Loch Lomond Dr,  Dock A behind  Andy's grocery store next to Loch Lomond Yacht Club

    • Days, time, duration: Depends on availability of instructor, but typically 3 half-day sessions.

    • Ages: >16

    • Prerequisites: Small Boat Beginning Sailing and Mentoring Sails or permission of the instructor. If 16-18, permission of a parent.

    • Boat: Santana 22

    • Price: TBD

  • Please click the class image to the right to register and pay. You will have an option to pick from the available sessions during registration.

  • If no classes or sessions are currently available that work for you, you can still fill out the waitlist below the class listing.

  • PLEASE NOTE THE CLASS DATES WHEN YOU REGISTER. The receipt that is sent to your email is your confirmation that the enrollment has been fully completed. Info on the confirmed class dates are listed on the receipt. Please check the receipt to be sure everything is correct.

Cancelation

You may cancel your class registration up to 7 days before the start of the class for a full refund.

Please contact us if you need to cancel.

Missed Days

There can be no make-up for missed days. You are responsible for ensuring that you can participate in all the class days.
