If you are interested in becoming and Open Sailhost, please join us for Open Sail Host Training on June 24 from 10 am- 2 pm. Time for lunch break allowed and plenty of fun on the water learning how to drive safety boat and how to rescue boats in distress and other useful tools which will allow you to host Open Sails on you own.
RSVP for this training by emailing Jane! We will be making some minor changes to the Open Sail rules. Mostly to the allowance of 'guests' that members can bring and the basic skill requirements for sailing the sport boats during Open Sail. This would be a great time to think about either taking Advanced Dinghy class, or getting "checked out" on the sport boats (Quests and Zests).

SEA recently lost a beloved member. Mo Witzel, one of the first of the Marin Yacht Club liaisons for Sail Camp, has passed away at age 99.
Mo was a fierce supporter of Sail Camp at MYC. He would row over each day, from his home on the canal, to check on the kids. His little boat, now known as the "Mo", was donated to SEA a while back and is rowed now by our members. Mo, his wife, Jane, and other MYC members hosted the graduation barbecues for Sail Camp. In many ways, he was the father of Sail Camp at Marin Yacht Club. Fair winds, Mo. We love you and will miss you. |
