Please note the age and prerequisite information for each camp.

Introductory Mini Camp-
Half-day (9am- 12:30 pm) sessions introduce younger children to sailing. Light morning breezes give younger children an opportunity to start learning about wind, water, safety and fun. Sail Camp Counselors sail in the boats with Mini Campers to directly teach sailing skills in small groups. Each student rotates through the different responsibilities of sailing (steering, controlling the sails etc) with direct assistance from the on-board Counselor. Youths are taught basic sailing skills in our sloop rigged, 16.5 foot Catalina Catalina's by our experienced staff.  Ages 8-10.

Note: Children aged 10+ who have completed one full week of Mini Camp are eligible to enroll in Basic/Intermediate camp at the discretion of the Program Director

Advanced Mini Camp- Full day (9am- 4pm) session for returning Mini Campers who have participated in Mini Camp either in prior years or earlier in the 2022 season but may still be too young to move into the full Basic/Intermediate Sail Camp sessions. This Advanced Mini Camp will build on previous experience and allow campers to do more advanced sailing in the stronger afternoon winds. As opposed to Introductory Mini Camp, the goal will be to get students comfortable sailing on their own with counselor assistance from a safety boat close by thus teaching students self confidence and problem solving skills along with refining their sailing technique. Youths are taught in our sloop rigged, 16.5 foot Catalina Catalina's by our experienced staff. Ages 8-10. Prerequisite: Introductory Mini Camp

Basic/Intermediate Camp- Full Day (9am- 4 pm) Basic introduces new sailors with boat handling and the principles of sailing. Intermediate campers who have mastered basic skills will be challenged with more skill building in single-handing and responsibility by building leadership skills. The full-day sessions for two weeks (Monday through Friday) concentrate on sailing, boating safety and teamwork. Parent, campers, instructors and friends will celebrate the end of Basic Sail Camp at a graduation BBQ held at Marin Yacht Club where certificates and awards will be presented. Ages 11-14

Advanced Sail Camp- Half day (1 pm- 4 pm) Sessions for advanced sailors looking for more intense sailing aboard our new sloop rigged RS Quests. Campers will be challenged by performance sailing, longer voyages, and an introduction to racing. Advanced campers encouraged to come early to help with mini camp. Prerequisite: Intermediate level. (Advanced students must be approved by SEA Head Counselor or Director.)

SEA Explorers- Full day (9am- 4 pm) This camp strives to help students develop a feeling of ownership and protection of the marine environment. For students who have completed Basic Sail Camp and have a love of learning more about the "why's" and "how's" about things, SEA Explorers is a great way to expand students sailing knowledge and have fun doing so. Youth improve on already learned sailing skills and engage in marine science experiments to better understand marine systems and our relationship with the marine environment!  Prerequisite: Basic Sail Camp

Registration will open at 12 pm on Monday January 24th on our website. The dates are announced here for planning however the registration forms and payment links will not be made live until the 24th.
