Charter

SEA offers charters of its vessels to members in good standing who have been checked out. 

Charter Hours: 9:00 to Sunset - Must dock/check-in 1/2 hour before sunset
Santana: $80 

Kitty Sark: ​$60

Availability:
Our vessels are available throughout the year, please check with the SEA office for availability and possible scheduling conflicts by emailing info@sfsailing.org or calling 415-775-8779


Requirements
Minimum of 2 Crew, 3 crew preferred
Skipper:
  • Current SEA Membership
  • Keelboat Checkout

Terms
When chartering SEA boats, I agree to the following
  1. Print and Sign Liability Waiver prior to charter for each person sailing
  2. Follow these rules below while using boats
  • Engine Boats / Santana 22 - off limits areas include:  seaward of the Golden Gate bridge, South of Bay Bridge, East of Carquinez Strait
  • Pay for the loss of any of the equipment detailed on the attached inventory.
  • Leave the boat in the same condition in which it was rented including: all gear stowed, sails furled/stowed and covered, boat washed with fresh water.
  • Email the SEA office within three hours of returning the boat to report safe return or otherwise. Skippers must also report any problems with the boat, whether new or pre-existing, on the pre- and/or post-cruise forms as well as in the ship’s log. Failure to call the office may result in a) the emergency contact being called, b) forfeit of deposit and c) possible suspension of chartering privileges.

I also acknowledge the following:
  • I have been approved by SEA to charter and am capable of operating the sailboat in a safe manner and am responsible for the safety of their crew and passengers.
  • I am aware of SEA’s insurance requirements and the US Coast Guard Zero Tolerance regulations concerning the use of alcohol and illegal substances.
  • I am member of SEA, with membership dues paid up-to-date.
  • Each person aboard will sign both medical and liability waivers on file at the office. If both medical and liability waivers for each person aboard are not returned with this rental agreement , YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHARTER.

Sailing Education Adventures (SEA) is the North Bay Area’s community sailing organization dedicated to providing on the water activities and affordable sailing lessons to youths and adults. Members enjoy sailing, kayaking, socials, workshops, and other community-oriented activities.
