Sailing Education Adventures’ Sail Camp is one of the best ways for children to learn to sail in The Bay Area. It offers intensive instruction on 14’ sailboats, as well as lessons on boat safety and seamanship.  And most importantly, Sail Camp fosters teamwork and self reliance.

This year the one-week Mini Camp will be held at Loch Lomond Marina while the two-week Basic Camp is at Marin Yacht Club in San Rafael. All classes are taught by experienced instructors certified by the US. Sailing Association. Parent, campers, instructors and friends will celebrate the end of Basic Sail Camp at a graduation BBQ held at Marin Yacht Club where certificates and awards will be presented.

In 1998, Sailing Education Adventures (SEA) and the Marin Yacht Club won the prestigious Nimitz Trophy in recognition of the quality of our youth program. Join us on the water for this exciting and educational sailing experience.

SEA is a non-profit community sailing organization dedicated to providing affordable instruction in the art of sailing and encouraging the care for the marine environment.

Mini Camp

Loch Lomond Marina.

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 9:00 - 12:00 pm
Ages: 8-10
Price: $295

One-week, half-day sessions introduce younger children to sailing. Light morning breezes give younger children an opportunity to start learning about wind, water, safety and fun. Youths are taught basic sailing skills in our sloop rigged, 16.5 foot Catalina Capris by our experienced staff. Camp is located at Loch Lomond Marina.

Note: We cannot enroll 8-10 year olds in Basic / Intermediate camps.
Children aged 8-10 who have completed one full week of Mini Camp are eligible to enroll in Basic/Intermediate camp at the discretion of the Head Counselor.

Basic/Intermediate Camp/Advanced

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 9:00-4:00 pm
Ages: 10-16
Price: $695

Marin Yacht Club

Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Camp  Basic introduces new sailors with boat handling and the principles of sailing. Intermediate campers who have mastered basic skills will be challenged with more skill building and responsibility. Advanced students will be required to take written test at end of camp, prove their skills single-handing and build leadership skills. The full-day sessions for two weeks M-F concentrate on sailing, boating safety and teamwork.

Advanced/Intro Race Camp
Located at Loch Lomond Marina

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 12:00-4:00pm
Ages: 12-18
Price: $325

Session I:  July 8 - 12 

Session II: August 12 - 16

One-week, half day sessions for advanced sailors looking for more intense sailing aboard our sloop rigged Catalina Capris. Campers will be challenged by performance sailing, longer voyages, and an introduction to racing. Advanced students must be approved by SEA Counselors or Director.

Terms

Registration Policy

A non–refundable deposit of $100/child for each week camp is required and already included in your registration fee.

SEA Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your Camp registration with our Office. However, please be aware of our refund limits for camps. Also be considerate to fellow Camp families. Last minute cancellations are unlikely to be filled! We can help facilitate trades amongst families who agree to switch equivalent sessions.

  • 21 days before session start date – 100%
  • 14 days before start date – 50%
  • 0–13 days prior to start date – 0%
  • Any cancellations, refunds or payment disputes resolved after 60 days from date of purchase date will require additional payment of 4% online transaction fees.

Missed Days

There can be no makeups for missed days. You are responsible for ensuring your child(ren) participate(s) in the camp during the dates offered.

Volunteer

Many volunteers work hard to improve the camp curriculum, equipment and facilities on a continuous basis.
