Dear water sports families,

Please join Sailing Education Adventures at the Marin Yacht Club for our annual Sail Camp Open House and for the celebration of  National Safe Boating Week with Free Sailing and snacks on Saturday May 19th. This is our 28th year for Sail Camp!

SEA will give out FREE PFDs and safety demonstrations as part of National Safe Boating Week.

USSailing newlogoSummer Sail Camp is Sailing Education Adventure's primary program for teaching youth sailing to youths during summer vacation. The US Sailing Certified program is based at the calm and protected harbor of the Marin Yacht Club in San Rafael.

Camp Clipper provides a scholarship based sailing alternative to encourage underserved students in the San Francisco and Marin County communities, particularly the youth of Marin City and San Rafael Canal district..

The program was created in 2004 through the joint efforts of Sailing Education Adventures, America True, Performing Stars of Marin and Fish Restaurant. Camp Clipper is a one-week introduction to sailing, with classes lasting 3 hours/day for 5 days.

SEA Explorers Print E-mail

SEA is proud to announce the SEA Explorers program in partnership with Romberg Tiburon Center.  This Citizen Science Sailing Program connects youths with their marine environment by engaging them with hands on skills and marine observations.

A program teaching youths ages 9-14 how to sail on the Bay, while introducing them to marine sciences with an emphasis on plankton's vital role in our oceans. Four days of full immersion sailing and a full day of samples collection and microscope observations with an on the water field trip to Angel Island and other data collection points in the bay.

The curriculum includes lessons and hands-on activities focused on:

  • Zoo- and phyto-plankton
  • Sea water density
  • Solar stills
  • Currents, Charting

Each day culminates in journaling local conditions and samples observations.

Summer Jobs Print E-mail

Sailing Education Adventures, a non-profit sailing eduation organization, seeks head counselors, assistant head counselors, counselors and junior counselors for our Sailing Programs. 2012 will be SEA's 28th year of operations.

Schedule
Spring Sailing Counselor - May 2 - June 20   W  3-7pm
Summer Camp Counselor -  June 25 -  August 30  M-F 8:30am to 4:30pm
Saturday Family Sails Coordinator - Monthly Saturdays 2-5pm  Volunteer Position

Assistant Head Counselor
Responsible for assiting with the instruction and safety for 16 - 25 youth sailors ranging from 8-16 years and will coordinate several Counselors and Junior Counselors. Supports Head Counselor with all parent relations, youth registrations and training. AHC is also repsonsible for supporting HC with host facilities relations and all safety policy compliance. Compensation $14/hr

Counselor
Must be highly proficient in sailing (college level or above), First Aid / CPR Certified, USSailing Level 1 Cert, able to rig, instruct and sail Laser Pico or Catalina Dinghies, and be able to competently operate a variety of motorboats. Counselors must instruct the campers in a friendly and efficient manor, as well as handle some parent relations. Compensation:  $8-12/hr depending on position and experience

Junior Counselor
JCs must have completed our Advanced camp. This is a volunteer position with responsibility for assisting counselors at the docks and on the water. A one-time $125 fee is required to apply.
JCs traditionally sail with us for two seasons before advancing to Counselor position.
