A Natural Roller Coaster Ride!***
I am writing this full report for my SEA friends who were standing along with their kids on the Organ Wave last Thursday, almost crying of joy for me, rooting for The Energy Team, in spite of their Italian, English, Peruvian or American nationalities!
In 2000 I heard about Sailing Education Adventures, an amazing non-profit sailing organization based in Sausalito. I immediately started sailing with them when I was barely speaking English. Everything I know on a boat I learned from exceptional SEA volunteers, but also San Francisco Bay local experts and SEA Members John Paul Watts, Frank Lawler, Cathy Steirhoff and so many others. Over the years all of them became friends for life. Thank you SEA!
When my domestic partner Eric, who is not a sailor at all, arranged and offered me the unique opportunity to sail as a guest racer with the America's Cup World Series on Energy Team with Loick Peyron and his “boys” on October 4th on one of the 7 official regattas of this ACWS, I was speechless and could not believe it.

America's Cup World Series racing is on, and it is an amazing sight to behold live.
SEA members have been gathering to watch the races up close since August, and it is truly an exciting spectacle for all to enjoy. The best place to watch racing is from land -- Yes, from land, sailors! You can get views of the boats charging to the finish from 50' away at the Wave Organ. That is at the end of the sand spit east of the St. Francis and Golden Gate Yacht clubs.
Thursday was a special day (Youtube) with SEA member Catherine Boucher riding as guest on the back of French team Energy's AC45 -- They almost went over at one point! Member Katka Letzing was also able to score a ride as guest on China Team's practice runs. We await their description of that incredible experience!

Meeting time was noon at Clipper Yacht Harbor on a cloudy Saturday to see the America’s Cup sailing race on the Bay. Peter had invited SEA member Sandor with his son Nick, as well as his colleague Rob with his family (wife and 5 kids) to share sailing on our Ericson 38 Kranich (“crane” in German). All together we counted 6 adults and 5 kids, including 4 adults with sailing experience for an exciting day on the bay.

Where: Horseshoe Cove
Date: Sunday, June 26th
Race Time: 11:00, from SEA Docks
It's that time of the year again where the best skippers in SEA race across The Bay in our fleet of Catalinas. Will the mouthy upstarts best the sea dogs? Is it really about being the better skipper, or does equipment matter?
This year, skippers will raise money in order to "purchase" the best boats and sails for the race. SEA members will be able to wager on the results, with the winner getting a piece of the pie. In the end, however, the real winner will be SEA.
This year's race will start in Richardson Bay and end at the Presidio Yacht Club. Celebrate with the race teams at Mike's Place at the Yacht Club!
Thank you,
Wesley Frederick (Race Coordinator)
