The historic scow schooner, Alma and the chinese junk replica Grace Quan, will be sailing to downtown Petaluma with their crew and will be available for touring in the Turning Basin on October 13th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Her appearance is through a partnership between the park, the cooperating San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, and the Friends of the Petaluma River.
Activities for the weekend include a BBQ at the David Yearsley River Heritage Center, on the McNear Peninsula, with a Blue Grass Happy Hour(free) from 4:30-7:30PM BBQ Dinner $10/person. Post BBQ, at 8 PM there will be a movie in the barn !Oh Brother Where Art Though? $5 Suggested donation including refreshments
Sunday, October 14, 11am-2pm, Public Sail on Alma, leaving from/returning to Petaluma Marin. Tickets; $20 adults, children under 12, free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Saturday's open House. Information: 415-561-6662, ext. 16, or email

Join experienced skippers, SEA crew along with Descalza for our annual Petaluma Trip!
Downwind sailing north across San Pablo Bay with a gentle sun and rocking water. Then, venture 12 miles deep into the mouth of the Petaluma and witness undisturbed marshland life of lazy pelicans, swans and vast waving grasslands. Finally a large bridge openswide, bells and horns sounding, to welcome the you into the cradle of the Turning Basin and downtown Petaluma.
