SEA's Annual Member Meeting at Saylors!
When: Thursday, October 18 6pm-9pm (Happy Hour @ 6pm)
Where: Saylor's Restaurant (upstairs in the Cabo Wabo Room), 2009 Bridgeway Blvd. Sausalito
Join us for happy hour at 6pm. Meeting begins at 7pm.
This is a very important meeting to give recognition to our many very special volunteers this year, many of whom have spent countless hours instructing, fixing boats, and attending meetings to ensure others can affordably and safely learn and enjoy the art of sailing on The SF Bay and beyond. We want them to know how much we appreciate them!
We will also review the year's accomplishments and challenges. There have been many things to celebrate, but we also have some big issues to discuss.
It's election time! A new Board of Directors will be elected to help steer SEA into its 30th year. And, we look forward to a big celebration next year!

Join SEA at the amazing Cavallo Point hotel for this important board meeting. SEA had a very successful 2012 youth sailing season. Sailing Summer Camp has been running at max. capacity with waiting lists. A new Family Sailing program has emerged attracting sailing families who enjoy hiking out with children. We've launched an afternoon youth sailing program in Sausalito for the Spring, Summer and Fall. And, Camp Clipper, our important youth outreach program in Sausalito, sailed in fair winds this season, thanks to our very generous sponsor, FISH Restaurant.
However, our adult program has suffered the burden of its past successes. In 2011 we taught 12 sessions to over 90 students, but this seriously taxed our volunteer instructors. This year we have been unable to keep up the pace and need to reassess our adult program business model.

Communications, Katka
Katka has been in San Francisco for almost 8 years, originally coming from the Czech Republic. She always wanted tried to sail, so Bay Area was the perfect place to be.
Katka took SEA classes around 5 years ago and participated at many open dinghy sails as well as the SEA open sails. After being a regular dinghy sailor, she became Assistant Instructor to help others to sail and then also started to sail on bigger boats such as Santana 22s and others. Katka has participated in multiple Bay Races as well and tried some of the ocean racing.
As a board member, Katka hopes to help others to find the same love for sailing as she has thanks to the other SEA members and mentors and hopes to help to connect others to sail and become friends.
