Sharing the Good - Volunteer Spirit at SEA Print E-mail

Brown_sailingSkipper Mark Brown set out last week with a crew of SEA folks for some Bay sailing. Mark journeys three hours from Sonora to take  members on keelboat and mentor sails. This past summer he even volunteered his time to teach a weekend 101 class, which meant a six hour drive in one day! Thank you, Mark!

Baron Hershberger was also seen on the docks learning how to operate the skiff. He'll help coordinate, as a volunteer, Catalina sails to ensure other folks have the opportunity to practice sailing the boats - it's what makes SEA go round!

SEA is recruiting skiff operators.  We need folks to coordinate and ensure safety on the water while other members practice sailing. Though the last Wednesday Catalina Open Sail is September 21st  (bring your flashlights - it's the autumnal equinox!), we hope to continue the Sunday Catalina Open Sails (2nd and 4th Sundays). But, we can't do it without volunteers. This is a great way to give back!

If you want to be trained as a skiff operator, please contact me, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Let's keep the Sunday Open Sailing going strong!
