Sailing Education Adventures

The 7th annual San Francisco Ocean Film festival is this week (March 9 - 13) at Theatre 39 on Pier 39. The Festival celebrates the sea with inspirational films that increase our appreciation of the oceans, and this year the Festival has an outstanding lineup of interesting and educational films. Note that Friday, March 11, is the Surf Program that includes the movie Westsiders - By Joshua Pomer, (90 mins). The film documents the story of Santa Cruz friends, Daryl "Flea" Virostko, Shawn "Barney" Barron and Jason "Ratboy" Collins. They bond over common tragedy and the love of surf, helping each other through broken homes, drug addiction and psychological issues.
