Transbay Race Print E-mail
Written by Sailing Education Adventures
Dear SEA Members,

We've got a great cast of skippers for this year's fearsome Transbay Race!

John Paul Watts, skippering SEA Jane , will be going head to head with our own Program Director, Russ Huebschle skippering SEA Squirt. (If anyone else would like to skipper SEA Squirt Russ will gladly hand over the reins!)

Our esteemed maintenance guru Ken Perez will be taking on our resident tech wizard Mark Miglio in a head to head Santana race.

Whether you are crewing this race, attending the BBQ or cheering from Tahoe, please consider collecting sponsorships for each boat in this race. All funds will go to support the maintenance and improvement of the SEA fleet which we all enjoy and is in special need of your loving attention right now. You can submit a sponsorship online by choosing the donation function and entering an amount of your choice, sending a check or by giving us a call here in the office at 415-775-8779. All donations are tax deductible.

You can also participate by:
  1. Coordinating the BBQ. If you are interested in coordinating a team of volunteers to create a menu, determine a location for the BBQ, shop for the food & collect BBQ donations at the event please let us know ASAP.
  2. Attending the BBQ . Come enjoy a delectable meal with us to celebrate the start of another exciting SEA season and to welcome the racers home. $15 donation requested.
  3. Wagering on the total sail time for both the Dinghy and Santana race. Winner will receive a percentage of the total wagers corresponding to their wager up to 50%.
  4. Bringing food to the BBQ. Everyone loves a good home baked cookie or special summer salad. Please let us know if you have a dish you'd like to contribute.
Please contact us here in the office to let us know how you would like to participate in this year's Transbay Race/SEAson Opener. Whether you are planning to attend the BBQ, place a wager or sponsor a boat, we'd appreciate hearing from you by Thursday, May 24th.

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

- Emily
