Opening Day on the Bay, on the last Sunday in April, is the Northern Californian sailing season's official opening day. Dating back to 1917 and organised by the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association, any vessels can take part in the parade as long as they register beforehand. With a different theme picked each year, boats are encouraged to adorn their decks with appropriate decoration. The procession regularly features tug boats, clean-up boats and tour boats.

The Corinthian Yacht Club of  San Francisco announces the 47th Anniversary of the Blessing of the Pleasure Craft on Sunday, April 25th in Raccoon Strait from 10:30 to 1200 hours.  All Yachts are invited to participate.

Instructions:  All vessels are to proceed under power (including sailboats).  Enter the Racoon Strait Restriced Zone at the Northeast end, taking Pt. Campbell (Angel Island) to PORT.  Proceed on a southwesterly heading down Raccoon Strait, observing the 6-knot speed limit.  (Caution: check the tides and currents).  Pass between the Blessing Vessel and the Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon.  At no time pass between the Blessing Vessel and Angel Island (Pt. Stuart).  Exit the Racoon STrait Restriced Zone at the Southwest end.

Crew positions are totally dependent on how many volunteer skippers we have going out on any of our scheduled events.

SEA is also having a pot-luck picnic at Dunphy Park in Sausalito starting at 1600 after celebrating the official opening of the sailing season 2010.  Come by boat, come by car, ferry, bike or foot!!
